Nothing lasts Forever but Love Does! Napoleon’s Confession

After Napoleon was defeated at Waterloo in 1815, the British excited him to the lonely island of Saint Helena. There Napoleon meditated upon his life - his brilliant victories, the destruction he had caused, and his final defeat. He wrote in his memoirs:
“Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and myself founded empires. But upon what did we rest the creations of our genius? Upon force. Jesus Christ alone founded his empire upon love, and at this hour millions of men would die for him.”
