"Sdach Ksan" is a given name to a one-classroom school, situated in a Progel Commune, Phnom Korvahn mountain district, Pursat province, far west from Phnom Penh, the Capital city of Cambodia. The road from Phnom Penh up to Pursat was relatively soothing, but the remaining 30 plus Kilometers from Pursat to Sdach Ksan was beyond imagination. The first 25 km from the main road there was just bumpy but drivable, but the very last 5kms was too bad that we couldn't even bring our car in anymore. Luckily, the teacher there had 7-8 two-wheel-tractor ready for us because just about a week earlier, it rained every day. As a result, many parts of the road were destroyed and overwhelmed with water.
To cut the story short, we made it there and back safe and sound with only some bogged downs. People from the villages and us were all happy despite the fact that we missed our lunch and were under extreme heat. Seeing those small pupils' faces filled with smiles and happiness helped us forget our hunger and tiredness. The journey was hard but worth doing! The school still needs much more support, especially for a better road.
